Overview
Büro North, in collaboration with TCL, Cardno, and Parks Victoria, developed a user experience and interpretation strategy for the Plenty River Trail, a shared-use trail system designed for walkers, runners, and cyclists.
Spanning from Doreen to University Hill, the project includes 5km of secondary trails, five scenic lookouts, and two new river-crossing bridges. Our design approach focused on intuitive navigation and enhancing visitor engagement with the surrounding natural landscape. By improving key facilities like the Hawkstowe Picnic Area and Nioka Bush Camp, we ensured accessibility and ease of use for all visitors. Environmental and cultural assessments, conducted by the design team, played a crucial role in shaping the trail’s design, ensuring that the project respects the local ecosystem while providing an enriching experience for users. Büro North’s strategy seamlessly connects people with nature, encouraging exploration and interaction with the parkland’s unique features.
