Overview
Büro North collaborated with BKK, TCL, and the Spark Consortium to develop the user experience strategy for the North East Link, a 25km transport corridor in suburban Melbourne. This project aimed to enhance not only the roadway but also the surrounding precincts and local communities.
Our approach emphasized clear, intuitive navigation through the corridor, while integrating pathways and shared-use paths to promote connectivity. The wayfinding system was designed to complement the ecological restoration efforts, including revitalized wetlands, native plant parklands, and pedestrian trails. By focusing on seamless interaction with the landscape and community spaces, Büro North ensured that both motorists and pedestrians experience a harmonious journey through the environment. The strategy also incorporated Indigenous design principles to honor the Wurundjeri Woi-Wurrung people’s connection to Country, ensuring that the user experience reflects cultural and environmental respect.
