The Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) is a premier destination for major business conventions and large-scale events. Collaborating with Plenary, MCEC, the MCET Trust, Woods Bagot, and NH Architecture, we developed an integrated wayfinding strategy to simplify navigation and enhance the user experience.

Our approach involved extensive user experience analysis and journey mapping to address the distinct needs of business convention attendees and event visitors. By focusing on intuitive pathways, we ensured that visitors could effortlessly navigate the expansive venue, even during large-scale events.

Engaging with stakeholders, we conducted onsite testing and worked closely with the project team through a co-design process, ensuring that the final design was informed by real user insights. Our wayfinding solution seamlessly integrates digital information displays and physical signage, providing flexible and timely information that enhances visitor engagement.

The result is a cohesive and functional system that improves the overall visitor experience while meeting the operational requirements of MCEC and its event partners. The intuitive wayfinding solution delivers clear guidance for all visitors, whether they are attending a small business meeting or a major international event.
