Büro North has been engaged to develop the wayfinding strategy for the Sydney Biomedical Accelerator (SBA), a cutting-edge health, research, and education facility spanning 36,000 m².
In collaboration with Denton Corker Marshall + HDR, Arcadia Landscape Architecture, and Aileen Sage, Büro North’s wayfinding system has been designed to support seamless navigation through the seven-storey facility, anchored by a central circular spine known as “The Connector.”
The strategy focuses on enhancing the user experience by providing intuitive, clear guidance for researchers, students, and healthcare professionals across the complex. By mapping out key journeys, Büro North created a system that fosters collaboration and interaction between the University of Sydney and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital campuses, connected for the first time by a physical bridge. This wayfinding package ensures that the facility’s innovative design supports not only scientific advancements but also a positive, streamlined user experience.
