Overview
Büro North’s user experience planning for the Australian War Memorial enhances how visitors engage with and navigate this iconic institution. Recognizing the significance of the memorial, Büro North developed a wayfinding strategy that respects the solemn nature of the space while promoting intuitive navigation.

Through comprehensive research, including visitor observations and stakeholder consultations, we crafted a system that accommodates diverse visitor needs, ensuring accessibility for all. The implementation of clear, unobtrusive signage and thoughtfully designed spatial cues guides visitors seamlessly through exhibitions, galleries, and commemorative areas, allowing for a meaningful and uninterrupted experience.

By balancing the needs for directional clarity with the importance of preserving the memorial’s reverent atmosphere, Büro North has created an environment where visitors can reflect, learn, and honor with ease. The result is a user-centric space that fosters engagement and deepens the connection to Australia’s military history and heritage.
