Situated in Melbourne's eastern-suburbs, Bunjil Place combines cultural, community, and entertainment facilities into a highly integrated, stunning facility for the City of Casey. Designed by FJMT Architects, the building and its surrounding precinct are inspired by First Nation stories of Bunjil.
The breadth of spaces and services (including a library, events space, council contact centre, theatre, and studio space) required clarification through a simple, contemporary wayfinding system.
Drawing on the sweeping curves of FJMT's foyer design, Büro North developed a suite of graphics and signage which balance a responsive aesthetic with bold typography via a streamlined information delivery. The resulting design enables people to navigate the building with ease and confidence ensuring Bunjil Place is somehwere they can celebrate, collaborate and connect.
